Service Project #1: "Put Your Best Foot Forward"
PSE Families...we did it! Our first service-oriented project was a huge success! We were able to send several boxes of new socks, as well as gently worn & brand new shoes to the Bahamas Consulate to help the residents of the Bahamas who were impacted by Hurricane Dorian. We are so proud of our students and our school community for giving so generously to help those in need, and we're looking forward to serving the homeless in the upcoming months by collecting scarves, hats, gloves, and blankets. Thank you so much!

New Schoolwide Communication with Seesaw
Parents, we are so excited this year to use Seesaw as a school wide tool to:
engage families in conversations centered on student learning,
share student work,
foster students' creativity and
give students a space for ownership and choice.
You should have recently received a letter with directions to establish a Seesaw account. If you have not already signed up, please do so as soon as possible to see the "latest happenings" in your child's classroom. Please contact your child's teacher if you have any questions. Enjoy!
Registering students is now easier and more efficient. Please click here or the Online Registration image (left) to begin the process.
We are so excited to continue our partnership with Zaxby's (4410 Brownsville Rd., Powder Springs)! Our Zaxby's Spirit Nights are scheduled for the third Tuesday of each month from 5-8 PM. Our school receives 10% of all sales between those designated hours! Please plan to make Zaxby's your dinner choice for these evenings to support our school. Proceeds benefit our Foundation to support Arts Integration at Powder Springs.

Attendance Matters Why is attendance critical?
Regular School Attendance promotes healthy habits for the future.
By attending school, children learn how to be good citizens by participating in the school community, as well as learn valuable social skills.
5 absences (regardless of the cause) whether excused or unexcused can impact a student’s academic performance (According to research completed by the GA Dept. of Education).
College & Career Readiness Index (CCRPI)- Attendance is an indicator in determining the performance measurement score the school receives from the state which could determine additional resources the school receives each year.
Students that are in the 6th through 9th grade- attendance is a better predictor of whether a student will drop out of school than grades/test scores.
Parents' commitment to school attendance sends a message to their children that education is a priority and that attendance is a vital part of their educational success.
Regular attendance helps children feel better about school, as well as themselves, and will help them succeed in high school, college, and at work.
