W.I.G.S. (Wonderfully Intentional Goal Setting) Save the Date September 6, 2018 6-7:30 PM
Please mark your calendars for our 2018-2019 WIGS (Wonderfully Intentional Goal Setting) on Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 6-7:30 PM! Modeled after Academic Parent Teacher Teams, WIGS will provide teachers and families a time and place to share student performance data and set achievable, measurable, student-centered academic goals.
During WIGS, our teachers will provide an in-depth coaching session to our parents on how to interpret their child’s data based on overall classroom performance and district-wide assessments. Parents will be provided with strategies and tools to help support learning at home. Together, parents and teachers will set individual SMART goals for their students. Please save the date!

Regular School Attendance promotes healthy habits for the future.
By attending school, children learn how to be good citizens by participating in the school community, as well as learn valuable social skills.
5 absences (regardless of the cause) whether excused or unexcused can impact a student’s academic performance (According to research completed by the GA Dept. of Education).
College & Career Readiness Index (CCRPI)- Attendance is an indicator in determining the performance measurement score the school receives from the state which could determine additional resources the school receives each year.
Students that are in the 6th through 9th grade- attendance is a better predictor of whether a student will drop out of school than grades/test scores.
Parents' commitment to school attendance sends a message to their children that education is a priority and that attendance is a vital part of their educational success.
Regular attendance helps children feel better about school, as well as themselves, and will help them succeed in high school, college, and at work.
